What months do you hold weddings and events?

Sawyer Farms operates June through September.

Do you offer different packages for renting?

One set package is offered for all events at the rate of $5,000. Note that Sawyer Farms only hosts one wedding or event per weekend to offer couples a relaxing experience. No need to rush in and out!

Are we required to have a wedding planner for our event?

While a representative of Sawyer Farms will be available on the days leading up to and on event day as a resource to help answer questions about the venue, Sawyer Farms requires that each event have a designated planner or coordinator. Sawyer Farms is responsible for the management of the property and the venue for the event. All additional needs are handled by the event coordinator/planner.

Duties include but are not limited to organizing rental drop-offs and pick-ups with a Sawyer Farms team member, on-site supervision of all rental drop-offs and pick-ups on behalf of the renter, table and chair set up if not rented from Seated, LLC, etc.  Your representative is responsible for any and all needs outside of the property and venue. Sawyer Farms is an event venue and does not coordinate event planning. If you're searching for a local wedding planner and would like recommendations, please send us an email at info@sawyerfarmsdoorcounty.com. 

Event coordinators/planners cannot be a member of the wedding party or an attendee of the event. Contact information for the event coordinator/planner must be provided three months before the event.

What is the maximum capacity of the reception barn?

The reception barn holds a maximum of 225 guests seated. Couples are allowed to invite additional people for dancing and cocktails after the seated portion of the evening has concluded.  This must be discussed with Sawyer Farms prior to the event and confirmed for approval.

Where can guests park for an event?

Guests will enter the property off of Sunnypoint Road and proceed to the fenced in pasture to park. If parking attendants are desired, please let us know when booking and help can be arranged for $20/hour. Cars can remain parked in the pasture overnight on Saturday but must be removed by 1 p.m. on Sunday. 

When are we allowed to begin decorating? What's included?

Indoor and outdoor lighting is provided. If renters request specialty lighting, it will be at the renter's expense with approval from Sawyer Farms.

Decorating may begin two days prior to the event no earlier than 9 a.m. and no later than 9 p.m. All decorations and belongings must be picked up by Sunday at 1 p.m. 

What vendors can we use? 

No food or beverage service is provided by Sawyer Farms and renters must contract with an outside caterer. There are no restrictions or limitations on which vendors you have to use. We want your day to be as personalized to you as possible! If you'd like recommendations for local and nearby vendors, please send us an email to info@sawyerfarmsdoorcounty.com for more information. We're happy to provide the names of companies we've worked with or vetted in regards to catering, florists, music, lodging, furniture and wedding planners. 

Note that Sawyer Farms contracts with Seated, LLC., a local chair and table rental company at a competitive price. They offer eight-foot banquet-style tables ($7/table) and 225 chiavari chairs ($6/chair) for rent on-site. They are a dark cherry wood color with ivory cushions (pictured to the left). The delivery fee is waived. When inquiring about a potential event date, please let us know if you'd like to rent tables and chairs through Seated, LLC. as well. We'll need to confirm that the tables and chairs are available to rent the day of your event. Linen rentals are not offered and will need to be contracted out.

Do you provide bartenders? 

Sawyer Farms will provide a licensed bartender for $50/hour at each event. One additional bartender is needed for every 50 people in attendance at a rate of $35/hour. The renter's representative is responsible for paying the bartenders at the end of the evening.

How late is our event able to go? 

All music must end at 11 p.m. and the grounds need to be vacated by all parties by 11: 30 p.m. The day after the event, the property, including cars, must be cleared by 1 p.m. 

What happens in the event of inclement weather?

Tents may be rented for use in the ceremony yard if there is a threat of rain or extreme heat. This must be approved through Sawyer Farms before purchase. Several fans can be set up throughout the reception barn to help with airflow and small portable heaters are available for use in cold weather scenarios.

What makes the Sawyer Farms venue different than others? 

We're very proud of the heritage of the Sawyer Farms property and that it has been in the Sawyer family since 1954. It is an operating farm with lush crops and a small herd of cattle that graze in a nearby pasture. 

We're also different in that we book an entire weekend for one event at a time. Couples and renters will have access to Sawyer Farms Thursday at 9 a.m. through Sunday at 1 p.m for decorating. You're already going to have a busy weekend ahead of you, and we want to help ease any stress that we can in terms of set up and take down. 

Sawyer Farms is one of the largest event venues in Northern Door, with the ability to seat up to 225 people in the reception barn.

We're also fortunate to be located 0.5 miles down the road from The Landmark Resort. This is a great lodging option for friends and family visiting from out of town. The close proximity to the wedding venue makes it an ideal place to stay.
